Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)

The Subclass 600 Visitor Visa allows individuals to: 

• Travel to Australia for tourism or business visits
• Visit family or friends
• Stay for up to 3, 6, or 12 months 

 
This is a non-work visa. You must demonstrate sufficient funds and meet health and character requirements to qualify for this visa.

Tourist stream (apply outside Australia) 

• For applicants outside Australia 
• Purpose: Tourism, family visit, or cruise 
• Stay: Up to 3, 6, or 12 months 
• Cost: From AUD 195 

Tourist stream (apply in Australia) 

• For visitors already in Australia wanting to extend stay 
• Purpose: Tourism or visit 
• Stay: Up to 3, 6, or 12 months 
• Cost: From AUD 490 

Sponsored family stream 

• For applicants sponsored by Australian citizens/permanent residents  
• A bond from the sponsor may be required  
• Must apply from outside Australia  
• Cost: From AUD 195. 

Business visitor stream 

• For attending business meetings or negotiations  
• No paid work or sale of goods/services  
• Multiple entries allowed  
• Cost: From AUD 195. 

Approved Destination Status stream 

• For Chinese nationals travelling with an approved tour group 
• Cost: From AUD 195 

Frequent traveler stream 

• For frequent visitors from select Asia-Pacific countries  
• Valid up to 10 years  
• Tourism or business visitor purposes only  
• Must apply from outside Australia  
• Cost: AUD 1,435 

To qualify for the Visitor Visa (Subclass 600), you must:  

• Hold a valid passport 
• Meet health and character requirements 
• Show proof of sufficient funds 
• Provide a valid reason for visit

• Employment status and relevant evidence
• Police clearance 
• Medical certificate 

Application process for the visitor visa are as follows: 

• STEP 1: Create and login to your ImmiAccount.
• STEP 2: Choose your visa stream for subclass 600. (e.g., Tourist Stream, Business Visitor Stream, or Family Sponsored Stream)
• STEP 3: Complete the visa application form.
• STEP 4: Upload scanned copies of all the required documents.
• STEP 5: Pay the visa application fee online and submit the application.
• STEP 6: Wait for Australian Department of Home Affairs to review your visa application. (You may be asked to provide biometrics, health assessments, or additional documents if required)
• STEP 7: If approved, you will be granted Visitor visa subclass 600 via email. 

Reminder: Apply 6 to 8 weeks before your planned travel date to avoid delays.
