What is a 491 Visa?

Subclass 491 visa is a skilled worked provisional visa designed for skilled workers who want to live and work in designated regional area of Australia.  

This visa is valid for 5 years. However, you can apply for permanent residency (PR) through Subclass 191 after living in a designated regional area for at least 3 years from the date your visa is granted. 

Designated regional areas of Australia include Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Hobart, and others, excluding major cities like Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
